Traffic

Right-hand traffic is implemented in Finland. The pedestrian crossing the street or planning to do so always gets priority. All passengers must wear seatbelts whilst travelling in a private car. Every motor vehicle has to use lights regardless of the time of day. The general speed limit in densely populated areas in Finland is 50 km/h and outside these areas 80 km/h, unless otherwise guided by the traffic signs.

The biggest possible speed limit on motorways is 120 km/h and on other roads 100 km/h. Winter tires must be used from December until February and always when the weather requires.

Winter tires without studs can be used throughout the year.
The legal limit of blood alcohol level content whilst driving is 0,5 per mils.
